Entschlossen, den Triumph der Medizin zu sichern, die er über das Interesse der Kranken stellt, kommt Dr. Knock nach Saint-Maurice, um Dr. Parpalaid nachzufolgen. Es gibt nur wenige Patienten, da der Gesundheitszustand der Einwohner ausgezeichnet ist.
Weit davon entfernt, entmutigt zu werden, überzeugt Knock jeden, der zu seinen kostenlosen Beratungen kommt, dass "alles Gute ein Kranker ist, der sich selbst ignoriert". Das Ergebnis lässt nicht lange auf sich warten: bald liegt das ganze Dorf im Bett...

Determined to ensure the triumph of medicine, which he put before the interests of the sick, Dr. Knock arrived at Saint-Maurice to succeed Dr. Parpalaid. It has only a few patients, the state of health of the inhabitants being excellent.
Far from being discouraged, Knock persuades each person who comes to his free consultations that "everything is a sick person who ignores himself". The result is not long in coming: soon, the whole village finds itself in bed...

Determinato a garantire il trionfo della medicina, che egli pone al di sopra dell'interesse dei malati, il dottor Knock arriva a Saint-Maurice per succedere al dottor Parpalaid. Il numero di pazienti è basso, e gli abitanti sono in ottima salute.
Lungi dal scoraggiarsi, Knock convince ogni persona che si presenta alle sue consultazioni gratuite che "chiunque stia bene è un malato che ignora se stesso". Il risultato non si fa attendere: presto, tutto il villaggio si ritrova a letto...

Déterminé à assurer le triomphe de la médecine, qu’il fait passer avant l’intérêt des malades, le docteur Knock arrive à Saint-Maurice pour succéder au docteur Parpalaid. Celui-ci ne compte que peu de patients, l’état de santé des habitants étant excellent.
Loin de se décourager, Knock persuade chaque personne venue à ses consultations gratuites que « tout bien portant est un malade qui s’ignore ». Le résultat ne se fait pas attendre : bientôt, tout le village se retrouve au lit…
