Église de Louchapt
1 Rue du 8 Mai, 46600 Martel, France
At the beginning of the 12th century, a priory existed. Subsequently, it depended on the Benedictine abbey of Brajac in Cantal. It is a small building with a polygonal chevet, single nave and side chapels forming a transept (rebuilt entirely around 1867-1872 by the architect Lizot). Epoch at which the paving of the entire church was also redone, and the walls reassembled to redo the framework. Two engaged columns with carved capitals of geometric patterns mark the entrance to the choir.
