Celles-sur-Belle, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, in the south of Deux-Sèvres, has within it a Royal Abbey of the seventeenth century of an exceptional architecture.
Rebuilt on the remains of an old abbey complex dating back to the 11th century, a landmark of history, the abbey now hosts a large number of cultural activities (exhibitions, academies, concerts and music festivals, etc.).

The Royal Abbey was listed as a Historical Monument in 2000.
