Song of wax and soul
Photographs by Allan Martin and Linaupe Carter
In the caressed shadow of a Gothic nave, where stones still murmur the forgotten psalms of centuries, an exhibition is born that can be guessed: it passes through, as one passes through a feverish dream or a sentence that refuses to die.
Each face is a moment stolen from darkness, the one when the model finally accepts, or the one where he still evades, modest, fierce. The light rises, shy, from the hollow of a palm, from the wet edge of a lip, from the secret lake of the eyes.
The light flickers, wavers.
She dies for a second then takes a breath, she is a fragile miracle. And it is in this very vacillation that the soul finally consents to show itself, naked, shivering.
