Chapelle Saint-Thomas-des-Indiens

57 Rue Mgr De Beaumont, Saint-Denis 97400, Réunion

La Réunion

The Mission of Saint-Thomas of the Indians was founded in 1852 by the work of the propagation of the Faith, at the request of Monseigneur Deprez, first bishop of Reunion, with the aim of evangelizing the immigrant Indians. The chapel, built in 1862, is characteristic of the modest architectures of the mid-nineteenth century, with the use of lime plasters of different colors.
