Several lords succeed one another in Champs from the 11th century, from Adam de Champs to Jeanne II de Champs who sold it in 1399 to the d'Orgemont family. Pierre d'Orgemont, chancellor of Charles V, had a mansion built in 1499-1500 by Claude Fany. After his sister, Louise d'Orgemont, and her son, Claude de Montmorency, the estate was owned by Jean Duval, lord of Dampierre, treasurer of François I, who obtained it through exchange. Jean Morin bought it from him in 1563, who exchanged it for Jean du Faur de Saint-Jory in 1567; the estate then extended over 26 hectares. The latter sells it to Jean Dugué, tax collector, in 1577\. He had a castle built, bequeathed to his wife, Anne Leclerc, in 1584, then to his daughter, Anne de Ligny. Purchase by Giulia Savelli in 1604; bequest to her daughter, Catherine de Rambouillet, in 1606\. Sale to Guichart Faure in 1607; bequest to his grandson Jules-César II Faure in 1636; bequest to his son, Nicolas Faure de Berlize in 1681\. The latter modernize
