The castle of Combret (13th-19th centuries) in the north of Aveyron is located on the side of a steep hill overlooking the valley of Créneau and the road Pierre SOULAGES leading from Rodez and Marcillac-Vallon to Conques-en-Rouergue.
It is located in the AOC area of the Marcillac wine and has always seen the birth, at the foot of the castle, calves that fall under the designation of excellence of Veal Aveyron and Ségala.
A co-seigneury is mentioned in Combret, at the end of the thirteenth century; the tower and the remains of a bay in half-circle geminée of the west facade, dating from the late thirteenth or early fourteenth century, belong to the oldest parts of the castle which was probably composed from the beginning of a dungeon and a home in return of square.
The medieval castle has been transformed and enlarged by successive owners:
