In the heart of a grand hotel, visit this staircase dating from 1750, and its ramp classified as French heritage.

It was in 1700 that the Tournier De Vaillac family built a magnificent hotel by buying five houses.
On this occasion, he had the ironworker Mr.Joseph Bosc make the monumental staircase ramp out of custom wrought iron.
It was designed in a transition style, with its decor of
loops, festoons, fleurons, arches and laurels. Discover its history, as well as that of this unique place.

À propos du lieu

La Cour des Consuls
46 rue des couteliers, 31000 Toulouse

In the centre of old Toulouse, in a charming 18th century family home, this beautifully preserved historic site is now home to a hotel.
Located in the Carmes district, close to the banks of the Garonne, the Museums of Old Toulouse and the Grands Augustins, the hotel is a haven of peace where past centuries are expressed. Behind its superb neo-classical pink brick facade, enamelled with the family coat of arms, discover a renovated decor that retains historical characteristics.
Admire the remarkable ramp. The main staircase of the house contains a staircase with a ramp created by Joseph Bosc, with four bays composed of a series accompanied by oval motifs to day, the voids of which are respectively occupied by a laurel flame and a motif composed of a quiver and a cross torch hanging from a light sling, surrounded by an oak crown. The ovals are separated by panels of flowered stems and joined by oak garlands. It is listed under the title of Historical Monuments.
