Guided tour of the temple of Gisacum, being excavated. Departure every hour (last departure at 17:00)
Guided by the archaeologists of the site, you will discover the history and chronology of this monument which measured 27 meters high in Antiquity. Central and main monument of Gisacum, it welcomed the cults, in particular dedicated to Jupiter and Apollo, of this city with religious vocation. Today the research continues with the study of a well filled by many carved blocks from the decorative architecture of the monument. At the end of the visit, as a nod to the theme of maritime heritage, archaeologists will present malacology, which is the study of shells. Indeed, many sea shells were found excavated in Gisacum in general and in the temple in particular.
To complete this discovery, guided tours of the city’s Gallo-Roman baths will also be offered as well as a mosaic workshop for the youngest.
