Place Notre-Dame, center of Gatteville-le-Phare is remarkable for the many public or private buildings that surround it. An informed glance can trace many stages of local history during the last millennium. Three of these buildings are particularly meaningful:
- the Church of Saint-Pierre, listed as a historic monument, with its two steeples (including the Romanesque bell tower, listed);
- the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Bon Secours, known as the Chapelle des Marins, also inscribed and whose construction was established in the 11th century;
- the War Memorial erected on the square in 1920.
On the occasion of the Heritage Days, Gatteville Heritages offers a guided tour centered on these three buildings. From the Merovingians to the 1944 bombings, the Middle Ages and the Revolution, you will be able to find with us the local traces of the History of Humanity. To participate, go on Sunday, September 22 at 3pm in front of the Monument aux Morts, Place Notre-Dame.
