Self-guided tour of the Jongkind house
Maison Jongkind: Fisherman’s house and Maritime landscape art 17th century house illustrating the history of Honfleur, both through its maritime past through its architecture (House built around a boat mast) that through the presence of Johan Barthold Jongkind in this place, impressionist painter working with Claude Monet, and whose maritime landscape works are multiple (reproduction within the House). Honfleur and Normandy are born with the Vikings, the History of William the Conqueror, and his flagship will be discovered in La Mora located a few meters from the House Jongkind. Like all fishermen’s houses in Honfleur, Maison Jongkind is characterized by several floors accessible via narrow stairs, therefore, an inscription is strongly recommended in order to make small groups of 4 to 6 people maximum.
