The great lock of Réchicourt-le-Château is a remarkable work of art of the canal of the Marne au Rhin inaugurated in 1965\. With its waterfall ranging from 15.45 m to 16.18 m, it is considered to be the highest Freycinet lock in France. This massive concrete structure was built to replace a succession of 6 locks, and allows the passage of boats in 30 minutes against 6 hours before.
An exceptional natural territory: in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine, a Natura 2000 area and Biosphere Reserve recognized as World Heritage by Unesco, the lock of Réchicourt-le-Château is nestled in the center of an exceptional natural territory.
Various facilities (picnic area, barbecue, petanque, book box, etc.) offer visitors a moment of relaxation in a bucolic setting between water and nature, punctuated by impressive boat passages in the lock.

Accès
Accessible by boat, on foot or from the cycle route (V52), the lock overlooking the canal offers a magnificent perspective to the west. By vehicle, access possible from the D91 with parking camper below the lock.
