Jardins en Terrasses des Capucins
Ruelle des Capucins 55300 Saint-Mihiel
Les Jardins en Terrasses des Capucins are perched above the town of Saint-Mihiel, between the Promenade des Capucins which is above and the last gardens behind the houses. It is accessed by steep paths and stairs.
They had been abandoned for decades and the vegetation had taken over. Since 2022, the Capucins association has undertaken to rehabilitate the site by clearing and removing some trees to give them back their vocation of gardens and orchards. In addition, the association wishes to emphasize a development promoting biodiversity, install nest boxes, feeder plants for small wildlife, respect the wild plants in place...
The view is interesting and the gardens themselves are a curiosity because of a mix of small terraces on which there are stone huts in more or less good condition.
