This day is punctuated by animations around the viaduct, and will be closed by a unique festive evening. • The «Village de Garabit»: A showcase of local expertise! • Electric bike and boat rides. • Discover the biodiversity of the Truyère with a guide. • Information on the upgrading of the Aubrac railway line and daily mobility: stand of the AMIGA and Eiffel born in Dijon and also descendants of Gustave Eiffel, stand of the press house... • Tell “your” Viaduct to build the Margeride Ecomuseum of tomorrow. • Exhibition “The fabulous destiny of the Garabit Viaduct” deciphered. • Demonstrations of interventions in perilous environments: helicopter winching demo • Show with summer lights • Gala lunch by the Amiga association and the Toques d'Auvergne. On reservation led by Sylvie Pullès. • Creation of the 140 years old canvas by Claude Legrand, accompanied by the orchestra «Méganotes». • Musical animations, folk dances (stuffed Auvergne) and contemporary. • Dramatized readings on the construction of the Viaduct. • Pyrotechnic show

The Garabit Viaduct, a majestic iron structure, has united the two banks of the River Truyère for more than 120 years and has attracted the admiration of holidaymakers who discover it on the roads that crisscross the valley. Dressed in poinsettia red, its superb lighting offers a unique spectacle. The Viaduct of Garabit (564,69 meters long, 122,20 m high) was designed by Léon Boyer and realized by Gustave Eiffel from 1880 to 1884\. Lighting of the viaduct: From March 15 to May 31: ignition every day from night until 11pm (Easter night: ignition all night). From 1 June to 31 August: ignition every day from night until 1 am. July 14 – the last weekend of July: all-night ignition August 1 – August 15: all-night ignition From September 1 to November 11: daily ignition from night until 11:30 pm From November 12 to March 14: ignition from 18h30 to 22h00 only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Christmas holidays: every day) Christmas night and New Year’s Day: ignition all night.
