The ancient medieval village of La Garde-Freinet, set on a rocky peak, dominates all the surrounding valleys. Protected by an impressive ditch and natural cliffs, it is reached by a steep path, spared in turns in some places. The organization of the village is still visible through the remains of the walls of the twelfth century or the main street that separates the village from the «castle». Fort Freinet is one of these exceptional and rare sites that can be visited.
