One of the oldest castle-fort in Provence. Defensive and residential architecture from the 13th to the 16th century. Former residence of the Bishops of Arles, today houses a collection of weapons and uniforms from the 18th to the 20th centuries, one of the first public collections of French uniforms, weapons and military equipment in the world, originally constituted by Jean and Raoul Brunon, from the beginning of the 20th century. The permanent exhibition in the Château de l'Emperi (XIème-XVIème centuries), proposes a chronological route, from the Regency to the Great War, based on exceptional objects. From the uniforms of the soldiers of Louis XV, to the memories of Captain Guynemer, passing by the gloves worn by Bonaparte in Egypt or the sword of Emir Abd el-Kader, are as many objects witnesses of our history as we can discover.
