The Colour Trail
The "Parcours des couleurs", developed by the Saignon Photo Club in collaboration with ôkhra - ecomuseum of ochre, is an invitation to discover the mineral, plant and animal colors inspired by the Luberon. The photographic exhibition highlights the local fauna: the public is immediately called by the piercing look of a fox perched in an ochre quarry. Several insects, grasshopper, chafer, ant… remarkably highlighted by macrophotography, then border the circuit. Birds accompany visitors: egret, choucas, wasp, kingfisher… The mineral colors are honored with photos dedicated to the old ochre mines, multicolored cliffs, settling ponds, perched villages of the Luberon, bories, mill… Several photos of the local flora offer a gradient of shimmering colors: purple lavender fields, deep blue borage, Judean tree, whose pink stands out on the roofs of Apt… The Saignon Photo Club (affiliated to the Fédération Photographique de France) has been bringing together photographers from the Apt-Luberon region for 20 years. For 3 years, its large outdoor autumn and winter exhibition in Saignon has attracted thousands of visitors. His encounter with ôkhra - ecomuseum of ochre, allows today to offer this new "Color Course" in the valley of Pécuinquan of the Mathieu factory: 30 large format paintings (120 x 80 cm), among ochre islands and in the shade of pines and oaks.
