Hotel of the Intendant of the Navy in Toulon
Since the seventeenth century, the Intendant of the Navy sits in this hotel with the responsibility of managing all the stewardship activities of the Royal Navy, then the National Navy.
For the first time, the Groupement de soutien de la base de défense de Toulon (GSBdD), the successor of the Marine Stewardship in Toulon and a major military support player, opens the doors of this illustrious hotel.
You will have the chance to visit this hotel usually closed to the public. Inside, you will discover the inner courtyard, the large hall, the antechamber, the council room and the intendant’s office.
Several one-hour conferences will take place during the two days outside opening hours from 4 pm to 6 pm on the themes of the history of the hotel, the great stewards, the great figures of maritime history and the Order of Medusa who sat in this building.
A signing session by Mr. Alain boulaire of his latest book «Kerguelen: A sailor of the Lights» is also planned.
