A dozen panels made by the Archives de Valréas with the help of Marie Vinourd, curator restorer of books, will reveal the different stages of the restoration of old registers. Ms Vinourd will speak on Sunday 17 September at 3pm in the Salon d'Honneur to present the work done for the City of Valréas, the restoration and digitization of three registers: - A cadastre of 1650 - A table of the four cadastres of 1675 - A terrier of 1597

The castle of Simiane is built on the remains of an old house that was built by the Montauban family in the thirteenth century. Hugues Aymeric built in the fourteenth century the two bodies of building still visible along the street of the City Hall. On the other hand, there are few traces of the work carried out in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Truchenu family. Most of the current building was built in 1639-1640 by the Cavaillonnais contractor Bernard Moureau on the plans of the Avignonnais architect François Royer de la Valfenière for Louis de Simiane (This Avignonnais architect owes many buildings in the Comtat, including the bishopric of Carpentras). It was not until 1780 that the symmetry of the composition was completed with the replacement of an old building by the south wing (architect Avignonnais Franque who also carried out the plans of the bishopric of Viviers).
