The present church is built between 1822 and 1829 on the plans of the architect Louis François, father of the architect Jacques-Louis François-Villers, author of the churches of La Bohalle, Saint-Mathurin-sur-Loire and Brain-sur-l'Authion. The church was the subject of a first restoration campaign in 1847. The choir and apse are distinguished by their vaults decorated with caissons, typical of the Neogreek decorations of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
