Guided tour of the departmental store of movable objects
For the second year, come and discover the collections of religious textiles of the Departmental Repository of Movable Objects.
Exceptional opening of the chapel of the former convent of the Sisters of the Visitation, built in the middle of the nineteenth century by the Angevin architect Charles Roques, property of the Department of Maine-et-Loire.
Discovery of the collections of liturgical vestments of the Catholic cult (17th - 20th centuries): chapes, chasubles, dalmatics, stoles, handles, veils, scholarships... The visits will focus on the history and manufacturing processes of these garments, mainly silk and often embroidered. The presentation will show the importance of nature in the fabrics used for liturgical ornaments.
Guided tours only, of about half an hour, provided by the Department’s curators and limited to 15 people (registration required on www.maine-et-loire.fr).
This proposal is completed by two discovery stands on art restoration.
