Visit of the Charles Payraudeau Ornithological Museum
For the 40th edition of the European Heritage Days, visit the Charles Payraudeau Ornithological Museum, labeled "Museum of France", to discover or re-discover a collection of naturalized birds, which has more than a century and a half.
Since childhood, Charles Payraudeau has lived in La Chaize-le-Vicomte. At the time, he had to be an adventurous scientist, which led to the discovery of new species during his study trip to Corsica. Today, the museum houses 400 remarkably well-preserved and high-quality birds that always amaze young and old, enthusiasts or lovers of ornithology. It will also be an opportunity to meet the members of the new association 'Les amis du musée ornithologique Charles Payraudeau'' who will be there to welcome you on Sunday 17 September from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.
