Visit of the departmental biological reserve
This biological reserve developed by the Vendée Department is a vast area of 146 hectares of exceptional wealth. Shaped by man, this ecological ensemble takes you into the preserved universe of the life of the Marais Poitevin of the nineteenth century.
Located in the northern part of the Marais Poitevin, it is one of the last examples of wooded wet marshes in the area. In order to ensure the status of reserved natural space, the Department has divided the space into two parts, each with a particular vocation. The first with a scientific vocation, a refuge for species, and the second with a landscape, aesthetic and historical educational vocation where the sectors formerly maintained without clearing are valued.
