Guided tour of the manor of Ponjardière
Cathel and Jean-Philippe TOURMENTE are pleased to invite you to visit the manor of La Ponjardière. The restoration, begun a year ago, is planned over several years. The goal is to restore the manor of Ponjardière its original state.
It has already been amended many times.
Its construction could start in the 13th century.
Attached to the seigneury of Bellême, it would have been the last Norman line of defence against the counts of Maine.
It has been enlarged several times. The trace of an old bread oven is visible in the chimney of the ground floor. The left part of the building (farm) was therefore built later. The bread oven (still existing) is now completely to the left of the farm.
The roof on the left side of the mansion has been lowered.
The addition of the porch, to go upstairs from the outside, was certainly made in the 19th century. A window was then transformed into a door. It is currently being destroyed.
