The castle-museum of Noirmoutier opens its doors for free from 10am to 6pm. This is an opportunity to discover the temporary exhibition "Mission archéo: les enquêteurs du temps". You can also enjoy the panoramic view at the top of the keep.
The association of "friends of the Island of Noirmoutier" will present an exhibition on the archaeological site of St Hilaire from 10h to 12h30 and from 14h to 18h.
On Sunday, members of the association will read texts on the theme of Noirmoutier from 16h.

The museum is housed in a 12th-century building dominated by a massive four-tower corner keep built in the late 11th century; enclosure built in the 16th and 17th centuries on the site of older courtines. During the Hundred Years War, the castle underwent work of defences and reinforcement of buildings. At the beginning of the 18th century, the castle saw the reconstruction of its towers and the transformation of the keep into artillery work. In the 19th century, the castle served as a barracks.
