Exhibition of illustrations and posters by the artist Vincent Landais
Graphic artist and illustrator, Vincent Landais will present his works devoted to the Mayenne heritage Vincent Landais grew up in Mayenne; very young he already loves to use his pencils, and says he was designing the party sets for his school. He left Mayenne to become a civil engineer. After a few years he left his plans and sketches and devoted himself to his passion: drawing; it is a return to basics: he returns to Saint Berthevin and installs his workshop in the house of his grandfather. History and travel enthusiast, he likes to observe what surrounds him and makes his point of honor to draw the Mayenne heritage, rich in stories and anecdotes worth highlighting. Installed now with the status of graphic designer/ illustrator craftsman he works on different mediums and on different media even if he has a preference for the digital tool that allows him to have a result closer to his expectations. The monuments of the Mayenne that make the beauty of its villages are the favorite subject of Vincent Landais: «I like to walk in the small alleys and raise my head. I look both with my eye as an artist from Mayenne, and with my vision as a former engineer.” He explains: «I am rather a realistic artist, but I also like to take liberties on the shape of buildings and stimulate the imagination». «We pass by these monuments every day and we don’t necessarily pay attention, so I try to bring a new look». This exhibition is of course accompanied, according to the wishes of each one, by the free or guided visit of the gardens, the exteriors of the castle (with visit of the barn with Philibert Delorme type frame, the room under hull of overturned boat, the lower room of the keep), the escape Garden "Robi du Bocage", the exhibition of photographs on tarpaulins of the "Route des Joyaux de la Mayenne"
