Understand some key notions of men’s and women’s clothing usage through the collections of the Auguste Jacquet Museum and objects from the loan of some regional museums.
The exhibition is a staging allowing an approach of the practices around the court clothing and the everyday clothes, from Gallo-Roman antiquity, until the 19th century. This chronological journey will allow you to measure the extent to which clothing-related practices carry social and cultural values and meanings. "The habit does not make the monk," said the proverb. Often, however, it allows to decode the profession of the person who carries it, its function, its social role, or even a particular moment in his life.

* La Foire de la Madeleine Posters and prints (17th to 20th century), models, recall the splendour of the famous Beaucaire fair.
* Words and colours of the Félibrige Fichus d'indienne, jewellery of Arlésiennes, furniture, manuscripts of local félibres in Provençal dialect, testify to the attachment of the Gard city to Provençal traditions.
* An archaeological museum The pre-Roman period is illustrated by the discoveries made in the Gallic necropolis; the importance of the Gallo-Roman city, a road relay on the domitian road, is highlighted by the dedication to Titus Carisius: Praetor
