Hospital then collegiate church and home site of the fourteenth century for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. It became from the seventeenth century, during the wars of Religion, a citadel built to defend the bridge and the city and which includes the collegiate church and the hospital.
A part was destroyed in 1944 and 1948, but the remains are remarkable, including the monumental gothic portal of the architect Blaise Lecuyer.
The chapel and the hospital were added to the additional inventory of historical monuments in 2013.
