VISUAL ANTHOLOGIES: MICHAEL WESELY Visit of the photography exhibition with director LUISE HOLKE
This exhibition presents a selection of themes and motifs thanks to which the Berlin artist is known all over the world: architectures (including Mies van der Rohe), places in transition (such as the Potsdamer Platz), portraits, still-life and landscapes. His photographs are marked by very long exposure times between five minutes to several years. «Visual Anthologies» is Michael Wesely’s first solo exhibition in France.

«BIBLIOPHILE: the Franco-German library and the most beautiful books» The Franco-German library is the beating heart of the building, where the cultural and educational programming is extended and reflected. The inspiring identity was designed by German designers Axel Kufus (concept and furniture) and Bernhard Dessecker (lighting). A place for bibliophiles, with multiple possibilities and contents. Discover on this occasion the exhibition of the most beautiful German books of 2022, selected by the Stiftung Buchkunst for their creative design and finishing. A stimulating look at the book as an object of art and design.

À propos du lieu

Goethe-Institut Bordeaux

The German cultural centre Goethe-Institut has been present in Bordeaux since 1972\. The Goethe-Institut Bordeaux’s cultural, educational and linguistic programme focuses on photography, design and architecture in the Franco-German and European context. The twinning between Bordeaux and Munich (since 1964) and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region with the Hessen regions (since 1995) and Mittelfranken (since 2016) are important cultural axes. The Franco-German library was recently transformed by designers Axel Kufus & Bernard Dessecker to provide a stimulating setting in the city centre. Coworking spaces for the creative and cultural scene complete the offer. There are 158 Goethe-Institutes in 98 countries worldwide.
