Saint-Andrew’s church in Pau: living heritage, arts and traditions.
A place of worship since 1888 and still frequented by an English-speaking community, this church contains treasures of English and Palois art from the Belle Epoque. During your visit you will learn about the heritage of the ancestors of the region: the porch and the tiles of the chancel have been recently restored to the same, and there will be a demonstration of restoration of liturgical embroidery. The church will be decorated and a shroud mandala created by schoolchildren will be exhibited. At 4pm on Sunday only, a short recital on the theme of nature by the church choir.

This Anglican church, listed as a Historic Monument, was built in 1888 for the English-speaking community in Pau. The interior contains paintings typical of English art of the period, as well as memorials to families who were part of the Palo and English-speaking society of the Belle Epoque. The visit explains the ties of these families with the church, the artistic importance of the elements, and the restoration efforts recently begun.
