Enjoy a guided tour of this unique and unknown place! Between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, it is the work of the architect Cyprien Alfred-Duprat. Completed in 1926, the building is designed as a local service point for the neighborhood. Original architectural testimony of an era that built a lot in Bordeaux; it is registered as a Historic Monument since 1994.

Designed by architect Cyprien Alfred-Duprat in 1913
As soon as the Pont de Pierre opened in 1822, urban planning on the right bank developed rapidly around Avenue Thiers (the old Paris road). In 1888 the district was established as a township, but it still had no public facilities. To make up for this lack, the Bordeaux municipality bought in 1901 a piece of land in the vicinity of Avenue Thiers.
On 8 May 1903 Paul-Louis Lande, then mayor of Bordeaux, and the municipal council adopted the idea of a cantonal house. This multi-purpose building was to house the courtroom of justice and its dependencies, a police station with the commissioner’s quarters, a library, a conference room and a municipal auxiliary office.
After a first project, which did not see the light of day, the municipality called upon the architect Cyprien Alfred-Duprat in 1913\. His plans retained the party proposed by his predecessor, but they adopted a deliberately Art Nouveau style of elevation, which was quite unusua
