À propos du lieu

Stade Max Rousié

To replace the old Pont-de-marot stadium, which dates back to the 1900s and was located on the right bank of the Lot, the municipality of Villeneuvoise had a new stadium built in 1955.
This new stadium was initially called the Myra Mory Stadium, in honour of the famous Lot-and-Garonne deputy and reserve military Robert de La Myre Mory, killed at the front on June 10, 1940 during the Second World War but also mutilated in 1917 during the First World War.
Over the years, this new stadium became an important sports complex and, in 2010, it was named «Complexe sportif Robert de La Myre Mory». As a result, in August 2011, the Max Rousié Stadium was renamed the Field of Honour and its related gallery to honour the memory of the whimsical rugby player.
