The sources bear witness to a living and human environment. The most marked virtue of their waters remains the power to heal and many are the offerings left on the spot. Chiffon fountains, healing springs, discover these places full of beliefs, inhabited by atmospheres and legends. Through the forest, the paths will lead walkers from the Saint-Jean fountain to the stone dome, to that of Saint-Girons lost a little further in the heather, to Saint-Jacques where the water falls joyfully and where one comes to quench one’s thirst. An encounter with this precious rural heritage that is bequeathed to us.

À propos du lieu

Chapelle de Suzan
Suzan, 40110 Ousse-Suzan

  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Located on a natural area of 4 hectares composed of meadows and forests, the chapel Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Suzan is the subject of a classification under the title of Historical Monuments.
Of Romanesque origin, probably built in the twelfth century, the building is remodelled several times by being endowed, in the fifteenth century, with a vast semi-circular fortified porch, with loopholes and an elongated gallery added in the eighteenth century.
The restorations carried out in 1981-1982 reveal in the choir remarkable mural frescoes dating from the sixteenth century.
