For this year 2023, nearly 500 students, from 18 schools in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department, will participate in the workshop «Green construction, the discovery of environmentally friendly materials», to be held on Friday 15 September during the day dedicated to the «Children of Heritage», the day before the European Heritage Days. For this, the 9 architects, urban planners and landscape consultants of the C.A.U.E 64 mobilized for this day of awareness of the living environment and the environment.
The workshop aims to raise children’s awareness of green construction, to understand eco-construction in the renovation of buildings, to experience the concept of living and building in the face of the challenges of climate change.
A presentation will allow to understand the notions of summer comfort, winter comfort but also the comfort of life of the inhabitants. From the materials, children can discover the materials in a sensorial way and project themselves into the skin of an architect whose mission is to renovate an old farm.
