The studs are built on the site of the Cordeliers convent founded in the 13th century. Most of the buildings were built in 1845\. Box stables were designed in 1875 by Adolphe Gilles, architect of the city, then a riding school in 1878\. The stud farm is gradually isolated from neighbouring houses by the 4 streets that limit its current quadrilateral. The last buildings dating back to 1998 made it possible to build a meeting room, which could accommodate a hundred people, a forge workshop and showcases for the development of vintage horse-drawn carriages. There are no more breeding studs but an equine mediation centre remains.
