Discover the natural heritage of your territory, in rare natural environments in the Creuse and usually inaccessible to the public.
You will first cross the wet Landes which is decorated with many flowers and serves as a pasture for sheep limousines. In the context of climate change, this wetland offers alternative resources to herds. Then you will be immersed in the impressive reed bed, with its reeds erected more than 2 meters high in which are created paths to study migratory birds.

In the municipality of Lussat, in the heart of the Gouzon sedimentary basin, northeast of the Creuse, the Landes pond is rich in a very wide variety of species. It is a unique site in Limousin.
It is the refuge of more than 950 animal species, including more than 240 bird species observed, more than 40 species of dragonflies, bats including the Barbastelle (classified as vulnerable at the world level) or batrachian and amphibian species including the very rare crested newt.
It is home to more than 480 plant species, some of which are reedbeds (notably the Upper Sedge or the Great Fluke), others aquatic meadows housing species of great heritage interest. 57 species are classified as remarkable because they are very rare, threatened or even protected in the region or throughout France.
