For the exceptional opening of the Gelos National Stud Farm during the European Heritage Days, visitors will have the opportunity to discover, in the magnificent Stud Farm Park, century-old trees and 18th-century buildings. The Art' Gelos association takes this opportunity to present the fifteenth edition of the "Carrefour des Arts", an exhibition allowing 30 artists to exhibit their works in the boxes of a stable. In this unusual and magnificent place, artists will be present throughout the exhibition, ready to exchange with visitors on their work.

In 1808, Napoleon Bonaparte, returning from Spain where he had just installed his brother on the throne of this kingdom, stayed at the castle of Gelos. He decided to set up an imperial stud farm on this property, which was then owned by Baron De Duplaa, president of the Navarre parliament. The transaction was not completed until 1817 with the purchase of joint ownership between the state and the department. On this date the first stallions arrived at Gelos.
The castle, built in the 18th century, is one of the most beautiful houses built in Béarn at that time. The stables were built in the 19th century.
The stud farm had 12 horse-drawn carriages from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, listed as Historical Monuments. The upholstery of honour housed the harnesses, collars, saddles and nets in a cozy atmosphere, bathed by the softness of the leather.
For its 15th edition, the Carrefour des Arts is presenting an exhibition of 30 artists - painters, photographers, sculptors and plastic
