À propos du lieu

Château de Maisons

The castle was built by François Mansart between 1640 and 1650\. By its architecture and exceptional decors it is the model of the classic French castle that inspired Vaux-le-Vicomte then Versailles. Louis XIV stayed there several times. The Château de Maisons has known prestigious owners and guests, whether they were kings or princes, emperors or marshals, but also writers or thinkers such as Voltaire, Madame de Staël or Benjamin Constant.
