Embark on a real time machine for a unique visit! The Piette Room is unlike any other museum room in the world. It presents the fabulous collection of tools, weapons and prehistoric art objects discovered in the nineteenth century by Édouard Piette during excavations in the Haute-Garonne, the Pyrenees, Ariège and Landes. Many masterpieces are on display, including the famous Dame de Brassempouy, discovered in 1894. The Piette Room offers a testimony to the scientific activity related to Palaeolithic art and to the museography of archaeology, as practiced more than a century ago. Learn more

The Museum of National Archaeology presents archaeological collections, among the richest in the world, tracing the lives of men and their "inventions" from the origins to the Merovingian era. Some 3 million objects, including 29,000 exhibits, testify to the evolution of manufacturing techniques, artistic expression and religious thought of the men who crossed and succeeded each other on the national territory. Since December 29, 2009, the Musée d'Archéologie nationale and the Domaine national de Saint-Germain-en-Laye have merged into a single institution, a service with national jurisdiction-SCN.
