Guided tour of the Lycée Henri IV
VISIT THE HISTORIC HALLS OF HENRI IV HIGH SCHOOL
Created in 1804 in the buildings of the former Sainte-Geneviève abbey, the Lycée Henri IV is perhaps the only one in France to have kept medieval spaces. In addition to architecture dating partly to the end of the 11th century, it also retains many Baroque decorations. The refectory, the storeroom, the oratory, the immense library of the Genovesfains remain the witnesses of the importance, the richness and the influence of the abbey. The complex, classified as a Historical Monument, has benefited from important restoration works in recent years, including the cellar and the cupola of the library including the fresco, work of John II Restout (1692/1768) has recovered its brilliance and will be visible again during the European Heritage Days.
It is to the discovery of these prestigious places and the evocation of their history that invites you to a guided visit lasting about an hour.
