Rue Baudin, former rue aux Pois, houses several mansions dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The main bodies of these hotels, located between courtyard and garden, with wings in return until alignment, were built on the same model as that of the Parisian hotels of the Marais. Several kings of France stayed there, like Louis XIV, who during his journey through France in 1645 made a stop at Mantes. He stayed with his court in these hotels and the king stayed at 6 Baudin Street in the Carsillier Hotel.
