The buildings that currently house France Education International are over 250 years old. Three major periods characterize its history: In the 18th century, at the initiative of Mme de Pompadour, Louis XV chose to set up the first Royal Porcelain Factory in Sèvres, on the road between Paris and Versailles. It was in operation from 1756 to 1876, when the Manufacture was transferred to the Seine.
In 1881, the first class of Sévriennes moved into the building designed by architect Charles le Coeur. The École normale supérieure de jeunes filles de Sèvres, which trained the first secondary school teachers in France, was born. Students were welcomed there until the 1940 exodus.
In 1945, the International Centre for Pedagogical Studies was created at the initiative of Gustave Monod. International operator of the Ministry of National Education and Youth, he became France Education International in 2020 and now works in three areas of expertise:
* cooperation in the fields of school education
