À propos du lieu

Ferme de la Cure

Farm combining agriculture (cereals, fodder, root crops) and livestock (cattle, sheep and draught horses), on a surface of 36 hectares, the Ferme de la Cure is characteristic of medium-sized farms in the South Vexin. Since at least 1782 (date of the first property document still available) in this farm, these various fields of production have fed each other and fortified, shaping the layout of the buildings (barns, attic and hayloft, stables, stable, sheepfold, charreterie, workshop...). In a farm of this type, only the synergy of all this knowledge has guaranteed success year after year, by improving practices, by evolving and adapting to the vagaries and needs of the land, the animals, the people and the markets. The key to the prosperity of this multi-purpose farm has been a relevant and fruitful management of crop rotation (cereals, fodder and grazing) in order to maintain in the long term the necessary virtuous cycle, and this, without a doubt, with renewed capabilities and skills
