For nearly two centuries, these places have been the scene of discussions and decisions that have made it possible to build, stone by stone, the school of the Republic and to give the French educational system its current form. An aristocratic residence before becoming the seat of the Ministry of Education, the Rochechouart hotel has, since the 19th century, undergone successive expansions and improvements that gave it its current dimensions before a final restoration, In 2002, the façades and salons were restored to their original appearance.
