Since 2017, when the first exhibition, William Thornley’s Fragile Leaves, was presented, several private collectors have generously lent their works during the temporary exhibitions.
For one of them, this generosity was transformed, in the fall of 2022, by the deposit at the museum of 43 works, oils and watercolors.
The exhibition proposes to present unpublished works (oils on canvas), some very beautiful watercolors appreciated by the public during the previous exhibitions of the Thornley Museum and the most recent acquisitions made by the city..

The William Thornley Space brings together the largest collection ever assembled to date of this post-impressionist painter who, installed in Osny in 1892, made 43 years his home. This space has been superbly laid out in the restored attic of the left wing of Grouchy Castle. The collection consists of 190 works, including 42 oils and watercolours by William Thornley, as well as 120 charcoal or lead mine drawings. Alongside those of William Thornley, you can also admire the works of Véron, Camille Pissarro, Degas, Veyrassat, Monet and Eugène Duc in the different rooms spread over 300 m².
