PANCHY BERNAL Hat Designer
Panchy Bernal, Designer of Hats, presents his collection and his know-how at the Court of Arts of Vauréal on September 16 and 17, 2023
Passionate milliner, the hat is above all my art of living. My way of existing and loving.
A milliner by training, the hat designer who has always lived in me imagines, draws and realizes patterns from which will emerge wonders. Wonders that I will then make step by step, until they come to life I put all my soul into it, because I love to magnify women and men. But especially women, I confess! because I can then give free rein to all my creativity, without limits: I like to imagine the hat of their dreams, I like to fulfill their wishes, I like to guess their unexpressed expectations, I like to accompany them until the complete realization of their hat. And there, feel that my clients are ready to conquer the world with their heads held high, filled with the little bit more confidence that perhaps they lacked. A sparkling look, a smile that comes, a laugh that explodes and I know why I’m here, why I do this beautiful job!
What style do I print on my brand?
Hispanic by birth, I am attracted by the color and exuberance all Mediterranean. I can say that I am turned towards fantasy and extravagance! But I also like working with black, white and more French sobriety. In my creations, I want to express femininity above all, for all women, whatever their personality. My two cultures bring me this richness and this retreat. It’s up to me to discover the style that will make you vibrate! your style!
How did I become a milliner, you ask?
You will understand! Hats addict since always, I have been wearing hats since my childhood, under the heavy sun of Iberian summers. Ah, my Alicante! The hat is an institution in Spain, a real way of life. But especially an accessory not at all accessory! A protection against the heat and the rays of the sun that gives this mysterious and fatal air to women who stroll in the "calles" or walk on the beach. This is certainly why I gently cultivated this passion deep down and forged my creativity. Student, I followed the man I love in France and put my life and my luggage in a new greener universe. Where my children were born, where I have all my friends now. Ah, my France! I continued to wear hats! summer hats straight from the sun. But also hats to brighten my winter outfits. And that I liked to customize in my way to give them the touch of originality they lacked. My cupboards overflowed. What made my friends happy! And that’s when I realized I could make it my job. So I took the plunge! Armed with my pencils and notebooks, I trained as a milliner-hatter in school and in internships with the greatest of the profession.
