Following the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, some immigrant families settled in Champagne-sur-Seine. It was easy for men to find a job, since the Schneider factory was recruiting workers. The integration of these new inhabitants takes place gradually, despite the obstacle of the language.
Eager to come together to share their culture and memories, members of the Russian community came together and founded the Russian Colony Association. Three years later, the project of building a church emerged.
Thanks to its elevated and unobstructed location, the chosen land is well suited for the construction of a church, and each family pays a sum for the purchase of materials and land. The men participated in the construction of the chapel, according to the projects of the architect Popandopoulos. Started on May 14, 1938, the work was quickly completed. The church was consecrated on September 24, 1939 and dedicated to «Our Lady of All Protections». The church will host a few celebrations over the
