Espace Richaud - Ancien hôpital royal

Begun in 1781 under the direction of architect Charles-François Darnaudin, the construction of the Royal Hospital of Versailles lasted for nearly 80 years, and was not completed until 1859\. After the transfer of hospital activities to the Mignot site in 1981, Richaud would experience long years of abandonment, resulting in rapid degradation and even destruction caused by three soothing fires, including the latest one in 2009\. The safeguarding and rehabilitation of the site took place over a period of four years and allowed the redevelopment of a major urban area of Versailles, located between the Versailles Rive-Droite station and the Notre-Dame district.
