1 Boulevard Poissonnière, 75002 Paris, France
This cinema, originally designed to accommodate 3,300 spectators, was built for the impresario Jacques Haïk by the architect Auguste Bluysen. It was inaugurated on 8 December 1932\. The atmospheric room, of American (or even Hollywood) inspiration, is designed by the engineer John Eberson with neo-baroque ornamentation elements (antique statues, Moorish pergolas, starry sky...) made by the decorator Maurice Dufrêne. Three new rooms are converted into the basement in 1974 instead of the kennel and nursery premises. The new stage curtain, installed in 1993, is the work of the painter Edward Allington.
