Ceramics, ancestral and resolutely contemporary at Espace Monte-Cristo
Ceramics, ancestral and resolutely contemporary at Espace Monte-Cristo
For the 40th edition of the European Heritage Days, Espace Monte-Cristo invites visitors to discover its exhibition Toucher terre, the ceramic sculpture, which brings together more than 50 works by European and international artists.
Ancestral alchemical process, ceramics consists in the transformation of clay by fire. With their hands, the artists shape shapes, play with the tensions and constraints of ceramics, both material and technique, in a jubilant explosion of colors and textures.
Through unconventional assemblies of materials, the diversion of traditional techniques or the counter-use of utilitarian forms, artists surprise us and constantly reinvent sculptural practice, making ceramics a «living heritage».
Celebrating living heritage is an opportunity to showcase crafts at Espace Monte-Cristo… Enjoy our special programming!
